The only place on earth where lions still roam wild outside Africa. Safari permits, gypsy and guide pre-booked; hotels and private car included — you just watch the grass move.
Sasan Gir is the last stronghold of the Asiatic lion — a dry deciduous forest in Saurashtra where open-gypsy safaris roll out at dawn and late afternoon. The catch: safari permits are limited and sell out weeks ahead in season. That's the part we handle first. Every GoTrip Journeys Gir safari package locks the permit, gypsy and naturalist guide before anything else, then builds the hotels and route around your confirmed slots.

Permits are limited per slot and sell out well in advance — especially December–March and weekends. We book the permit, gypsy and guide as part of every package; you just confirm dates early.
The park is open mid-October to mid-June (closed in monsoon). December–March has the most pleasant weather; April–May is hotter but waterhole sightings are at their best.
The main safari is a ~3-hour open-gypsy drive through wild forest — sightings natural, never guaranteed. Devalia is a fenced interpretation zone where sightings are near-certain, ideal as a backup or when short on time. We can include both.
Permits go fast in season — tell us your dates and we'll confirm slots within 24 hours. Travel agents: ask for B2B net rates.
